Campus Safety Report


Monday 11/12

-At 3:10 p.m. a campus visitor reported that at 12:30 p.m. he parked his pickup truck in the west parking lot. The visitor stated that when he left campus around 1:30 p.m. he noticed that several items were missing from the rear of the pickup. The cap covering the rear bed of the pickup had not been locked and the visitor stated that several items of fishing and hunting equipment along with a power saw were taken.

-At 5:55 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in the PE building. A student had collapsed after lifting weights for 45 minutes. The student was found to be conscious but shortly lost consciousness again. An ambulance was requested and the victim evaluated by the paramedics. The victim was transported to Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus for further treatment.

Wednesday 11/14

-At 9:05 a.m. Campus Safety observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign at the intersection south of the PE building. The vehicle was followed to the west parking lot. The operator was issued a violation for disregarding the stop sign and the registration permit on the vehicle was found to have been fraudulently obtained. The information on the vehicle operator was turned over to the Dean's Office for further action.

Thursday 11/15

-At 1:45 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in Delta Residence Hall. A student was suffering from extreme abdominal pain. At the student's request, the student was transported to Health Services for further treatment.

-At 8:20 p.m. a student reported that at 5:00 p.m. she was following a vehicle toward the south exit of the FAC parking lot. The student stated that the vehicle she was following missing the exit and then backed up, striking her vehicle causing damage. The student stated that the driver of the other vehicle checked to see that she was alright and then left the scene.

Friday 11/16

-At 1:30 p.m. Campus Safety investigated a two vehicle accident in the west parking lot. A vehicle backing out of a parking space struck a vehicle moving through the parking lot causing damage to both vehicles.

Saturday 11/17

-At 3:45 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a report of a fire near the west side of the PE building. On arrival a small leaf and twig fire was observed with three subjects around the fire. The subjects were identified as students and the fire extinguished. The information on the students was turned over to the Dean's Office for further action.

-At 9:45 a.m. Campus Safety observed a vehicle enter the campus at the Burton entrance and disregard two stop signs. The vehicle was followed, the operator identified and the operator issued a moving violation. At 3:25 p.m. the same vehicle was observed to disregard the stop sign west of the East Beltline underpass. The vehicle was followed, the operator identified and the operator issued another moving violation.

Sunday 11/18

-At 11:00 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in Beta Hall. A student had cut her finger while washing dishes. The victim was treated at the scene.

Wednesday 11/21

-At 1:45 a.m. Campus Safety investigated a violation of the campus alcohol policy in the FAC parking lot. The information on the students involved was turned over to the Dean's Office for further action.
