David Gray feels like yesterday
David Gray’s dynamic style ranges from his overtly passionate “A Century Ends” to the more technologically focused 1998 release “White Ladder.” It seems that with each new release, David Gray has continued to take innovative musical steps while maintaining his core lyrical and vocal strength. Gray’s latest release “A New Day at Midnight” however is somewhat of a disappointment in that regard.

Audioslave: America's new super group
In a music scene full of faceless bands, void of personality or any sort of unique distinguishing factors, Audioslave stands out from the crowd. Audioslave, the latest supergroup to explode onto the music scene, features the combined talent of former Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell and three former members of Rage Against the Machine (or RATM): Tom Morello (guitar), Tom Commerford (bass), and Brad Wilk (drums).

My latest find hails from the great white plains of the sleepy town of Traverse City. Have you ever noticed how some hip cat will catch the promise of a young band on the rise before anyone else? Well, pass the kitty litter because Blisstripp has made me one hip cat.

"Phrenology": The Roots' study of the skull
Over one hundred years ago the English poet W.B. Yeats wrote the words, “Things fall apart, the center cannot hold.” Chinua Achebe borrowed these words for the title of his most popular novel “Things Fall Apart.” And in 1999 The Roots used these words once again as the title of their fourth studio album. They expressed the fact that they love wordplay, and that the same three words used on three continents in two different centuries can hold the same meaning.
