Campus Safety Report


Monday 1/20

-At 9:45 a.m. the Audio Visual Department reported that on Friday, 1/17 a video projector was found missing from a room in Spoelhof College Center. The projector was last observed in the room prior to Christmas Break.



Tuesday 1/21

-At 10:30 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in the Commons kitchen. A Food Service employee had severely cut his left index finger. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to the Med-Center by another employee.

-At 11:45 a.m. an off campus student reported that he had received a threatening phone call that he believed originated from an on campus phone. The information on the call was turned over to the Telecommunications Department for further investigation.



Wednesday 1/22

-At 1:35 p.m. a student in Kalsbeek Hall reported that just before Christmas break she discovered that he black carry on bag missing from the trunk room in Kalsbeek Hall. The student stated that she checked after Christmas break to see if the bag had been returned but it was not.

-At 9:35 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in the Lab Theatre. A student had hyper extended his index finger while rehearsing for a play. The victim was treated at the scene and a friend transported the victim to the Med Center for further treatment.



Friday 1/24

-At 10:20 a.m. Campus Safety investigated a two vehicle accident at the Service Building. A vehicle backing out of recycling building struck a stopped vehicle causing damage to both vehicles.



Monday 1/27

-At 3:35 a.m. Campus Safety investigated a 911 call from a room in Veenstra Hall. A student was found to have been suffering from nausea and had lost consciousness. An ambulance was requested and the victim transported to Metropolitan Hospital for treatment.



Tuesday 1/28

-At 10:20 p.m. Campus Safety observed two subjects shooting fireworks near the DeVos Communication Center. The subjects were identified and the information turned over to the Dean’s Office for further action.



Wednesday 1/29

-At 2:00 p.m. a student reported that at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday 1/21 he placed a load of laundry in a washing machine in the laundry room of Bolt Hall. The student stated that he returned for the laundry at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/22 and found it missing.

-At 4:40 p.m. two roommates in Noordewier Hall reported that sometime in the last day someone took money from their wallets which were kept in their room. The residents stated that this had also occurred two weeks ago.

-At 5:23 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in Alpha Hall. A resident had burned her hand while cooking. The victim was treated at the scene and advised to seek further medical attention at a Med Center.



Friday 1/31

-At 2:04 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in Beets/Veenstra Residence Hall. A student had suffered a foot injury. The victim was treated at the scene and was to find additional treatment later in the morning.
