Campus Safety Report


Monday 2/3

-At 11:25 a.m. Campus Safety investigated a two vehicle accident in the parking lot by the Engineering Building. A vehicle backing out of a parking space struck a vehicle traveling through the lot causing damage to both vehicles.



Tuesday 2/4

-At 6:10 p.m. a student reported that at 5:30 p.m. she left her backpack in the Commons while she went to dinner. The student stated that when she returned for the backpack at 6 p.m. the backpack was missing.

-At 11:30 p.m. a resident of Bolt Hall reported that sometime between 5 and 11 p.m. on today’s date someone took four new textbooks from their unlocked room.



Wednesday 2/5

-At 11 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in the Chapel. A student was complaining of back pain. The student was transported to Health Services for further treatment.

-At 7:55 p.m. a student reported that another piece of her luggage was missing from the Trunk Room in Kalsbeek/Huizenga Residence Hall. The student stated that she placed the luggage in the trunk room on Friday, Jan. 3, returned for the luggage on Tuesday, Jan. 28 and found the luggage missing.

-At 10:50 p.m. two students in Bolt Hall reported textbooks were taken from their rooms in the last week.



Thursday 2/6

-At 11 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in the DeVos Communication Center. A student was complaining of feeling faint. The victim was transported to Health Services for further treatment.

-At 6:30 p.m. a resident in Kalsbeek/Huizenga Residence Hall reported that sometime between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. someone took money from his wallet which he left in his residence hall room.



Friday 2/7

-At 9:15 p.m. Campus Safety investigated a violation of the campus alcohol policy in the south Physical Education parking lot. The information on the student involved was turned over to the Dean’s Office for further action.

-At 9:20 p.m. Campus Safety investigated another violation of the campus alcohol policy in the south Physical Education parking lot. The information on the student involved was turned over to the Dean’s Office for further action.

-At 11:00 p.m. a student in Heyns Residence Hall reported that sometime between 7:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. while she was away someone took money from her wallet which was in her unlocked room.



Saturday 2/8

-At 1:10 a.m. Campus Safety received a report of a vehicle driving on the lawn area near Rooks/VanDellen Residence Hall. The vehicle was located and the driver and passengers identified. The driver was also found to be intoxicated. The driver was turned over to his Resident Director. The information on the students involved was forwarded to the Dean’s Office for further action.



Sunday 2/9

-At 12:50 a.m. Campus Safety observed several subjects throw a computer monitor into the wooded area near Kalsbeek/Huizenga Residence Hall. The subjects stated that they had found the monitor by Boer Residence Hall. The subjects were identified and the information turned over to the Dean’s Office for further action.

-At 10:22 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance Kalsbeek/Huizenga Residence Hall. A student was complaining of feeling faint. On arrival the victim was found semi-conscious on the floor. An ambulance was requested and the victim transported to Metropolitan Hospital for treatment.

-At 3:30 p.m. a student reported that his vehicle was parked in the Kalsbeek/Huizenga parking lot and he had discovered damage to the passenger side door. The student stated that it appeared that the door of a vehicle parked in an adjacent parking spot had struck his vehicle.

-At 7:25 p.m. the Food Service reported that a student has just taken a tray of food and left the Commons Building. The student was found and identified.
