Welcome back to another week of classes after spring break. Just think about how quickly time will go from now until the end of the semester! It’s amazing to look at how fast this year has gone, and to reflect on all the opportunities that we’ve each had. It’s almost time to elect a new Senate and a new executive team, so the current Senate will be working hard to finish up our last few projects. Don’t forget, if you want to run for the executive team, you need to talk to Susan Sytsma today to get a petition (senatesecretary@calvin.edu) and she’ll get you all set to run. We’re hoping to have a few good teams run, so think about it and grab a petition.
Like I said, Senate is in the process of trying to wrap up our last few projects. We’ll be hosting another Midnight Snacks event in the dorms, so look for some advertising on that and come get some free food. We’ve also been talking with ESC about their energy conservation petition and looking at how Senate can partner with them to help our campus conserve more energy. If you have any input on this, feel free to speak with anyone from ESC or talk to Senate. In the next few weeks, the Appointments Committee will be meeting to appoint students to different faculty-student committees. This is a great way to get involved in the policy-making and discussions on Calvin’s campus. We’ll let you know soon how you can apply to be on a committee. One other project that we’re trying to wrap up is the mascot. We’re looking for three energetic, spirited people to be the mascot next year.
